Most people would think it was a jail, rather than an actually place for learning young boys. Some of the students who went to Hyaku were there to be disciplined, but some – like Chizuko Fukunawa’s older brother – were just regular high school students.
The first year student was normally pick up by car after class at the all-girl’s school next door, but today she told her chauffeur to go one without her. She wanted to ride home with her Onii-chan today. So the petite, blond female was currently standing outside the military school’s exit near the parking lot, waiting for her brother to get out of student council.
Most of the school was cleared out from the end of the say, but Makoto was vice-president of student counsel, making him usually one of the last students to leave. Chizuko didn’t mind, though. She held a content face as she stood on the sidewalk of the parking lot; it was a breezy day, so it wasn’t even that hot outside.
She held close a bundle of papers to her chest as a gust blew to her back, causing the hem of her black St. Valentine’s skirt to dance a little with the wind. Knowing she would have a little free time before her brother got out of school, Chizuko visited the girls academy’s own student counsel to see if they needed any help. They had her print copies of a flier they were going to post up soon about the dress code, and how summer was coming but there were no excuses to slack on the appropriate dress. She used a whole ream of paper to make these copies and would be sure to turn them in to the student counsel first thing tomorrow morning!
A few students passed her as they left the school, but none of them were her brother. The girl gave a warms smile to each of the boys – wishing them a good day – but most of them seemed to glare at her friendliness. Some took the St. Valentine’s vs. Hyaku rivalry more serious than others. Chizu was one of the students who were very indifferent about it. If she was on a break, and knew her Onii-chan was free, she had no problem stopping by for a visit regardless of the remarks the male students threw at her.
The blond kicked a rock at her feet as she continued to wait patiently. Her crystal blue eyes fell down to locate another rock to fumble around with when she noticed a scuff on her usually-polished shoes. She knew one of the maids would make a fuss about it once she got him, but Chizuko knew it was no big deal. Putting the stack of copies beside her on the ground, the girl leaned down to rub the scuff with her thumb.
Right at the moment she was satisfied with her buffing another strong gust of wind blew through. “Ah!” she let out a surprised gasp as she lost her balance and landed on her knees. Before Chizuko even had time to think about the copies she had left unattended, white sheets of paper were flying away with the wind that had passed through. She grabbed what was left of the stack (about half) and scurried around trying to pick up the litter of papers; but the wind and the fact that she was wearing a skirt made this task exceptionally difficult.
Another figure was coming out of the school, and she didn’t think much when she called out to him, “Hey, can you please help me!” Chizuko continued to pick up the fliers scattered across the sidewalk. Today had started off well: the nice was nice, just the right mixture of sun and wind to be pleasant and Hiroto had successfully managed to avoid doing anything to annoy his instructors ( a task easier said then done). As it neared the last stretch of the day, he had even allowed himself the small hope that he could get out early enough to go pick up Tsuki and walk home with her. Something that they had planned to do after his long list of offensive habits became shorter.
But, sadly, that hope was dashed when he had seen the face of his homeroom teacher after he had honestly replied to his question with: “I dunno who Nitroglycerin is, but I hope they’re friendly!” . For what felt like the hundredth time since his arrive, his name was written up on the board underneath a long list of delinquents and “troubled young men” and was order to “See me at the end of the day.”. The punishment of de jour had been a simple cleaning task. All in all, not the worst thing he done.
His task complete, Hiroto exited out of the front entrance of Hyaku smelling faintly of Pinesol and dust but none the worse for wear.
“Hey, can you please help me!”
Hiroto blinked as he heard a very clearly feminine voice coming from his right. He took a few steps forward, clearing the front gate and looked to his right, sure enough, a very petit young blonde woman wearing a St. Valentine’s uniform was crouched down picking up fliers. After a few seconds, her finally connected her words with the scene in front of him and shifted himself into a wider stance so he could look around him better. ”Oh yeah, of course!” he replied, awkwardly patting the back of his hair and flashing a smile before leaning and scooping up the papers closest to him. He felt bad for just standing around, but his Mother had always said that if you started off with a smile, people remembered you positively! (It was also her excuse for the sheer amount of money that had gone into braces and dental work for him and his sister.)
After the papers around him had been successfully gather, Hiroto moved on towards a different clump. But, just as he was about to pick them up, a gust of wind blew the papers away. With a snort in retaliation to his bad luck, Hiroto moved towards the paper again…only to have it blow away again. The third time, the gust was so strong, it knocked the one he had already gathered out of his hands.
Indignantly, Hiroto raised up a fist at the sky and then continued to pick up the papers until finally only one was left. He eyed the paper suspiciously, then began inching towards it.
Hiroto shuffled closer.
The papers moved a few centimetres away.
Hiroto moved again.
The paper moved a few more centimetres.
Feeling frustrated, Hiroto again raised his fist to the sky and opened his mouth to say- SMACK.
The offending paper blew straight into his face.
Slowly, Hiroto reached up to remove the paper from his face. Then, he erupted into loud laughter, his shoulders shaking and his head bowed from the strain of keeping himself upright and holding onto the papers while tears formed in his eyes. Turning to face the girl, who was now little more then a slim silhouette on the backdrop of the dismal looking Hyaku, he called out “I guess the wind doesn’t like either of us today!” [/style][style=float: right; margin-right: 20px; margin-top: -1px; background-color: #fff; -webkit-border-radius: 0 0 5px 5px; -moz-border-radius: 0 0 5px 5px; border-radius: 0 0 5px 5px; height: 10px; padding: 3px; font-family: tahoma; text-transform: uppercase; color: #494949; text-align: left; font-size: 9px; -webkit-box-shadow: 2px 2px 3px #ccc; -moz-box-shadow: 3px 3px 4px #ccc; box-shadow: 2px 2px 3px #ccc;]Fukunawa-san~ • 641 WORDS • hiro wat-er u doing?[/style] |
