A small, rodent-like figure suddenly emerged from the shadowy gap between two buildings and landed lightly on the edge of the roof, quickly making its way down south, nimbly hopping from the roof of one building to the high brick fence of another. “Tch. Stupid rat.” The bakeneko clicked her tongue and followed suit, tailing the figure with more stealth and agility one’d usually expect from a youkai whose original form is a cat, especially since said youkai was dressed in yukata and wooden sandals. Less than an hour ago Minazuki was just enjoying dinner at the mansion like usual, fighting over the last piece of shrimp tempura with one of her siblings before this annoying little pest darted across the yard. Normally no one would pay any attention to the little critter since they live in a damn forest, which means those things practically everywhere. But, that was until some bastard decided it would be just hilarious to point out the Tsuki’s reputation downfall as a cat because of one miserable rodent. And usually Tsuki wouldn’t waste any effort on such a trivial matter, then someone spitted out that what she thought was just a rat was actually a small youkai that often snuck in the house and stole stuff. It was just that a part of them were unable to catch the sneaky bastard, and those who had the ability were just…… too lazy. So the job was naturally shoved to the only cat of the house. In other words her. Those assholes, making me do all the work. Tsuki thought bitterly as she leaped down from the warehouse-like structure. Don’t get her wrong, she loves them to bits – well, most of them anyways – but count on them to endlessly grate on your nerves. “There there~” The young demon coaxed as she inched closer to her prey with her arms crossed and head tilted, looking down on the poor shivering creature as she had chased him into a dead end of a deep alley. “I promise this won’t hurt…… too much.”Just as she was about to finally lay her claws on the unfortunate critter, a yell came from behind them, along with the sound of footsteps quickly approaching. “Hey! You with the hair! What are you doing here!?”Tsuki’s ears perked up at the sudden sound, turning around only to be blinded for a split second by the flashlight pointing directly in her eyes mere meters from the duo. The demon’s animal-like pupils immediately narrowed into thin slits as they adjusted to the sudden brightness, allowing her to make out the figure of the intruder. But this was not the time to be distracted by humans! For she was in the middle of a glorious hunt that- Her head whipped back to face the corner where the rat was. Should be. Had been.At first she was just plain confused, rubbing her eyes with the back of her hand as if a grain of sand got in, since the rat she had been chasing for a good hour had just magically poofed. But when she caught the end of its tail disappearing into a crack, reality had finally caught up with the albino. “-UGGHHHHH!” Overwhelmed by rage, the bakeneko clenched her clawed hand into a tight fist and slammed it into the nearest wall, shoulders shaking violently. H-how was she suppose to face those bastards at home now?! A cat that couldn’t even catch a fucking rat – oh the humiliation! “HEY! I just asked you a question! This is private property, you can’t ju-!” The man suddenly stopped dead in his track as Tsuki suddenly turned around, glaring daggers at him with those creepy, animalistic blue eyes. The murderous intend radiating from of the girl was so intense he sworn for a split second there he saw waves of black aura rolling off of her petite figure. “…you…” The young female murmured darkly as she retracted her hand, revealing a deep fist-sized dent on the metal surface of the container. The hand reached out slowly and grabbed the man – who was too busy staring at the dent with bugged eyes – by the collar and pulled him down to her height. “…this is ALL YOUR FAULT!”[/color] The man opened his mouth as if he had something to say, but the only sound that he could make out was a girlish cry as Tsuki raised her right leg, kneeing him right between the legs, then tightened her grasp on his shirt and quickly jerked him forward, her own petite fist meeting his face half way. His body hit the cold concrete with a loud thud as soon as she let go. Still feeling quite unsatisfied, Tsuki raised a leg and stomped on his face, hard. After repeating the action several times the demoness had finally decided all of her inner rage had been released. Giving the corner one last longing look, the white-haired sighed and started making her way out of the dark alley. Leaving the poor man behind to be found by one of his fellow thugs by the morning. Or not, she really couldn’t care less about him. As she walked down the dimly lit road Tsuki finally realized she had chased the rat deeper into the south district than she originally thought. The dock wasn’t somewhere the young demon frequent, since the south district was the furthest from the forest and the dock on the furthest edge of the district. The older members of the family also warned her about the shady yakuza business that was carried out around this area. But it wasn’t like humans could do anything to her, despite being one of the youngest in the house she was still a youkai for crying out loud. So, still feeling the adrenaline rush from her prior run and also particularly adventurous that night, Tsuki decided to take a stroll around before actually heading back to the north district. Tearing a strip of fabric from belt of her slightly baggy, navy blue yukata – carefully so the hickory pendant tied around her waist wouldn’t fall off – and started wrapping it around her right knuckle, occasionally hissing from the stinging sensation and licking away the drops of blood as they glided down from the wound. note to self, remember this note to self before punching something hard next time.[/style][/style][STYLE=font-family: arial narrow; font-size: 9px;]Made by MINNIE of BTN[/style][/center]

The damn old grandmother who had tried to contact him for well over an hour now was getting on his nerves, and he felt like if she talked any more now he would blow his cover and miss his prey. So much for food tonight then. "I won't talk to you unless you shut up, okay?" Some days he hated his gift.
When he was about four years old, his father had taken him to the graveyard to pray for his grandparents. The whole ordeal had made him irritated and he had felt like he was tied with strings. However, the situation changed once Ryuu began asking a nearby cripple if he could untie the knots on his back, the invisible strings he felt. The man, who had been walking by cane, came up to him and told him he couldn't touch him, only speak. The four year old had stayed behind when his father was done and was asking the cripple all the questions he couldn't answer, so he decided to see if he found anyone else who couldn't touch him, but only speak.
By the time he had found someone else, he had gathered by seeing strangers that no one else he knew could see that he had some sort of abnormal gift, unnerving to him as he had no idea why. Not until his father told him about his mother, the goddess of death, did he feel relieved, and even then he had trouble going about his daily life.
He started closing himself inside his room, his younger siblings calling him hikikomori because he would not let anyone inside or come out in weeks at a time. His poor father had been devastated and wasn't sure if he should send in trays of food or try to lure Ryuu outside with his favourite things. None of it helped.
None of it helped until his mother talked him out of staying inside all day, not wanting his gifts to go unspoiled. Instead she urged him to hone his abilities and use them for his own good, in which Ryuu was especially intrigued seeing as he had only just recently gotten the fact that his mother was a goddess. Of death, nonetheless.
'But I really need to find my husband- haven't you see him? I think I lose him somewhere, but I forgot. Be a nice boy and help me.'
"Shut up!" he hissed, too loudly.
And with the overly dramatic noise Ryuu was making, the girl had scurried off. Probably to somewhere safer, although why girls like her were in the south at all baffled him.
He dropped his shoulder, sighing heavily, and stood up straight to look at the old woman who was still talking to him. "Look, I don't know where your husband is, maybe he got tired or scared of you, how should I know-" he rolled his eyes and put a hand on his hip, "but if you go away now, I'll promise to have an eye out."
'Oh, you sweet, dear boy! You make this old heart of mine warm, like it was the summer of 69.'
"You're a ghost, your heart will never warm again."
'Sweetiepie, don't spoil the urges of an old woman, this must be commended!'
"If you don't stop now, I'm gonna forget I ever made that promise."
'Oh dear. I better be off then!'
"Okay bye then! Won't miss ya! Good riddance .."
He huffed and strode on to a different location, spying a new target to sustain his godly abilities. The only thing that annoyed him with his gifts, in fact, because feeding was tiresome in the end. Sure, it led to pleasure he couldn't resist a lot of the time, but if he couldn't find himself someone nice he would have to deal with someone older or .. scrawny looking.
Ryuu shuddered at the thought and continued. He passed into a dark alley with shadows everywhere. And since the night was high and the moon was nigh, he had no trouble dancing his own little shadow dance in between the many containers filling up the street. In fact, he would have had no trouble if it had been light as day either, because there was no one there. No one there but him and a fellow cat, he could hear, hissing behind him. Now, what was his problem? Ryuu hadn't done anything to upset anyone-
He suddenly came face down into the pavement, feeling his nose warm up as if there was blood running down.
"God damnit!" he yelled.
He had tripped on something. Or someone. His head turned to look at his feet, what he had caught himself in.
It was a man, near thirty he reckoned, seemingly punched out cold, his face kicked to no return. Ryuu was able to see everything clearly in the dark shadows. The man's weirdly contorted face mentioned a fight, but there was no heavy blood around other than his face so the opponent had been more than capable. This was no rare sight down in the south. In fact, Ryuu was surprised if he didn't find at least five beaten drunks around his territory.
He stood up, rubbing his nose and cleaning most of the blood away with his sleeve. It was broken. Damnit. The pain would start throbbing any minute now, and he had no power over pain. Nor his emotions or feelings, and he spied some tears coming on in the future. He would have to go home and put something to stabilize it, or else it would heal crookedly. This was the only option he thought of, as going to the hospital would be far too expensive.
Dusting some dirt off his clothes, he huffed at the man who made him tripped, giving him a hard kick in the side before leaving him there to rot. That was what he did with everyone else he found out cold. It didn't matter to him much, the welfare of drunken bastards. If they couldn't keep up a fight, or disappear like Ryuu did, they had no business down here.
Walking out from the darkened alley, he spotted a girl nearby, tearing some fabric from her clothing. She was wearing a yukata of all things. Not a lot of people wore that down in the south, so he wondered what it was she was doing there.
Inching closer, he saw a rather pretty-looking pendant hanging from her waist, although he could not tell the worth of it from the distance. Inching ever closer, he crept up behind the young woman, trusting his ability to hide himself well enough and untied the pendant carefully from her delicate frame. When he had it safely in his hand, Ryuu returned to where he had been standing earlier, watching.
The feeling of the pendant was off, and it looked like it was old. Perhaps of some value, Ryuu thought, as old things tended to be pricier than new items. He smiled crookedly to himself, his white teeth almost shining in the moonlight. As he took a closer look, however, he discovered the pendant to be of mere wood. It might have been a rare type of wood, Ryuu could not tell, but it was not good enough to sell to any of his buyers. Sighing and dropping his shoulders in defeat, he looked around him to see if she had discovered him. He crept closer, making himself produce loud sounds as he walked to reveal his position.
"Excuse me, miko, I think you dropped this."
He smiled at her, extending his hand palm up, with the pendant on top. Why the girl would be carrying such a worthless item on her was beyond him, but he had no use for it so why not give it back? Usually he would just toss it away and care not at all for the consequences, but today he was feeling generous, despite the nasty fall he had earlier.

Once she felt the knot was tight enough, the ends of the makeshift bandage were tucked under the others. The girl stuck her bandaged hand and smiled contently as she examined her handy work, not at all affected by the dim lighting around her. Since either the people around her – namely a certain hotdog boy – or her was constantly getting small injures here and there, her first aid skill had improved significantly. Even though the reason behind it was not something to flaunt around, she was still damn proud of it. While she had noticed the sound of footsteps trailing behind her, the youkai had decided not to pay attention to whoever it was as long as that person doesn’t decide to do something stupid like attack her from behind. Then came his voice, causing the feline to whip around coming face to face with a raven- haired young man. Noticing the familiar wooden plate in sitting in his palm a hand instinctually reached for the spot on her waist, where pendant should be. It seemed like a lot of things were not where they should be today. “Ah! Thank you so much!” She beamed brilliantly at the stranger, stretching out her unwounded hand to reach for the hickory pendant and tied the accessory back around her waist, murmuring as if speaking aloud to herself, “It’s a little weird though, you’d think I’ll be able hear it hitting the ground, ne? it was almost like the thing just disappeared!” It was something she had been keeping on her person for decades now, a gift from one of her families on her thirteenth birthday, a youkai’s coming of age. Hickory was one of the materials that repel evil spirits, especially since this one was made from a tree that was at least ten times her age. The pendant was originally meant to keep away more dangerous demons whom might prey on her when she was just a mere kitty cat. Now she just kept it around for… sentimental reasons. Without warning, the albino leaned forward, well within his arms reach and pale face inches from his. “hmmm…” Her eyes glowed a piercing cerulean blue as she stared deeply into his, pupils dilating a little as she tilted her head and sniffed lightly at the crook of his neck. “Is that……blood?” She muttered absent-mindedly as she took another sniffle. The blood was obvious, since there were still traces of it left on his face, but there was something else underneath all that bloody scent. Something rather……familiar. Then it hit her. “Say,” She piped up, lifting her chin to look back up at the male curiously with a sly smile, “You didn’t happen to come across an older guy with a really bad dye job, three-quarter dead, not too far away from here, did you?” asked Tsuki as she tried to remember the man she almost beat into a bloody pulp earlier. “He isn’t actually dead dead, is he?” Not that she normally cared for the lives of humans – especially those lowly scumbags’ – but if he actually died she would really need to do something with his body. Her eyes flickered to the dock for a moment. well, talk about convenient. [/style][/style][STYLE=font-family: arial narrow; font-size: 9px;]Made by MINNIE of BTN[/style]

She reached for the pendant with her non-dominant hand, it looked like, so his eyes searched for the other. Finding it, he noticed it was wrapped in the fabric she had tore from her yukata earlier. What had she done? How had she injured her hand like that? Or, at least Ryuu thought it was an injury, because who would bandage their hands like that if it wasn't.
"I guess wood doesn't make the sound metal usually would on concrete," he said, shrugging, and watched her tie the thing back to her waist.
The way she had looked when she saw the pendant being given back to her after having "lost" it made Ryuu think it had some kind of greater value to her. Might be a gift, or perhaps of something importance? Like a protection spell- he had not heard or seen a lot of non-humans around, though he had to guess that as he was talking to dead people on a regular basis, things like magic did exist. Then of course, the pendant could just be of sentimental value, what did he know. And he would be damned if he was going to risk wasting time on checking it's proper value with his contacts. No, the best thing was to just hand it back to her, he figured.
He stood there assessing the situation before he noticed her leaning close to him, staring into his eyes. He had to admit, her actions creeped him out a bit, but she was quite beautiful and if he wasn't in such a good mood he would have definitely taken advantage of her naivety.
The girl had snowy white hair, with a tint of purple, and deep blue eyes, penetrating his dark red, almost bloody, eyes. Both of them almost glowing in the dark, making it hard for him not to notice. He frowned as he could hear her practically sniff at his neck, and wondered what was the girl's deal.
"Blood?" he touched his nose lightly, afraid there was anything left from his nasty fall, but it had broken it so he couldn't exactly control the flowing of the red substance. He crossed his arms over his chest as he did often when he was thinking. "Aaah, yes. Now that you mention it, I had an unfortunate meeting with some filthy cement earlier. Weird of you to notice." He raised an eyebrow at her.
When she mentioned having come across a virtually dead man, he took a step back, his eyes shot to her bandaged hand. Ah, so that was the connection.
"That guy broke my nose, thank you very much. 'You did that?" His eyes revealed he was amazed by this fact. He crossed his arms over his chest again, eyeing her as if she was another one of them lowly killers down in these streets, but still of his own caliber. "He's not dead, I think, but he owes me, so he better well be next time I meet him."
He huffed, stepping around her, his eyes watching her as if he was a lion trying to conquer his food. Although, he figured, lions didn't actually hunt that much as opposed to the lionesses. And that would probably be where this girl came in. Was she a lioness?
"Naa, where you from, miko? I haven't seen you before." He grinned as he saw the bit of skin revealing from where she had torn her clothes. "You're far too pretty to be walking down here. Especially alone. Poor fellow back there never had a chance, did he. But what come a bigger guy?"
She would have to be out of this world to be able to throw down someone bigger than the ugly man he had tripped over earlier. That, or very versed in martial arts, or something along that line.
"You sure you know where you are, miko? Lost the way to your temple?" He closed the distance between them when he was standing at her back, brushing her hair off her shoulder and gently blowing on her now exposed skin. "Want me to escort you back? I can do that, you know."

It would be a rare occurrence, but the possibility still remained. Tsuki was little curious about his encounter with the cement, since he didn’t strike her as the clumsy and careless type, but when the man admitted coming across the same annoyance as she did all of the dots connected together. “Ah, that was me. I was chasing......someone, when he rudely interrupted and made me lose my target.” A little frustration seeped through the sentence. Not that she would really consider that pest a person, but she didn’t want to explain why would she chase a rat to such an extent at this ungodly hour. And honstly, he deserved it, now that she had to go home empty-handed and probably face the humiliation. She poked her tongue out in a childish and apologetic manner, “Gome ne~ I didn’t know he would still be causing other people trouble by just laying there.” Maybe she should have just dispose of him instead of leaving him like that, but since when was she that diligent? Then he circled around her, which was a little odd and creepy to say the least, any other girl would probably be freaking out by now. But getting freaked out by a human was just ludicrous. Her pride as a youkai had suffered enough damage for one night, she wasn’t about to let it be damaged again. Tsuki’s gaze calmly followed his form as the man took his steps. From the way he carried himself and the tone of his voice, it wasn’t hard for the girl to tell that the stranger knows his way around the south district, at least well enough for him to be comfortable walking around alone after nightfall. Which really says something about him, considering the rumors she heard about this place. The albino’s smile deepened as she tuned out the warning sound coming from her conscience. “That makes sense, since I’m from the other end of the city.” Tsuki replied, the cheerfulness in her voice never wavered – even a little bold minding her current circumstances – and continued confidently, “and there’s no need to worry about me~ I might not look like much, but I can handle myself just fine.” Her right hand raised when she remembered the man eyeing it earlier, giggling a bit as she explained. “If you’re talking this, it had nothing to do with him!...... Well, maybe a little, I was pissed off and punched a wall.”A shiver ran up her spine as Tsuki felt his fingertips brushing against her neck and warm breaths breezing against the bare skin. Her eyes narrowed at the sudden intimacy. The closeness of the human made her feel uneasy, to say the least. But despite all of the feline’s instincts screaming at her to get the hell out of there, or at least out of his arms length, there was just something about the guy that Tsuki found strangely agreeable and alluring…… alluring, was that the right word? “Ara~ how kind of you. I would love to if my family isn’t so hostile towards unscheduled visitors. Besides, it’s a long way back” The girl drawled, mindlessly twirling the end of a silver strand between her fingers. Losing her prey and getting escorted home by a human. No thanks. besides, a temple is probably the last place you’ll find me living in. mused the young youkai. While many older demons didn’t mind, being in those places always made her feel extremely uncomfortable. She shifted and turned her head, wanting to get a glimpse of his face without hitting him in the head. “Why do you keep calling me miko anyways?” Asked the bakeneko quite curiously, "is it the yukata? Or do I actually look like one….”A demon being mistaken for a miko of all things, talk about irony. [/style][/style][STYLE=font-family: arial narrow; font-size: 9px;]Made by MINNIE of BTN[/style]

The goosebumps showing up on his skin ignored, however, as he continued watching her move before him.
The fact that she didn't seem to be a little taken aback by his hunting initiation made him wonder. What kind of girl was she? She was being far too cheerful for someone wandering down on the docks. Was she sick, or maybe had some sort of illness that made her not care about treasuring her life? He was about to ask her about it when she replied to his offer, declining.
"Are you sure? A long walk never stopped me from doing the .. right thing," he said, pausing especially before uttering the wrong word. He only wanted to feed on her right now and she was seemingly not going willingly. A little more charm, perhaps? But that would mean he would have to make an effort, and he hated going with extremes. Hah, no, she should just count her lucky he felt tired and weak tonight because of lack of food.
"Besides .." he dragged the word out long while he brushed his finger tips on her bare skin above her shoulder, loving the touch of such fair casing. "I won't trouble your family this late at night. I'm sure their heads would be filled with all sorts of .. bad thoughts .. if you came home with an older guy practically in the middle of the night, wouldn't they. No, I'll just have to send you along with my hopes for a safe return, won't I."
He watched her play with her hair, grinning wickedly at what would have been his prey tonight, if it wasn't for her subtle rejection. The previous hunt had given him nothing because of the voices but they seemed to be gone now, at least more so. Another hunt would do before he could take home.
"Miko?" he blinked, a little started she changed the subject so fast. "Aree, why, you ask .. because you're a cute little girl .. wearing a wooden pendant .. of course. Also you do quite look the part."
This wasn't exactly the case. A voice had whispered to him earlier she lived secluded from other humans, in the northern woods, and Ryuu only figured she was either a miko or a hobo. And she didn't look like the latter.
"Though it seems rather strange for a miko to be out of her temple this late at night, doesn't it .. and so far from it" he said, mostly to himself as he shifted his gaze from her neck to a trash can nearby. A little crying girl had appeared next to it, making him feel uncomfortable and not wanting to reveal his true self.
"Naa, miko," it was more a nickname of sorts now rather than the actual belief she was a shrine maiden, "why are you out in these parts this late?"
It sounded to him like she wouldn't even let him follow her home, or somewhere else for that matter, so he would simply make some complimentary small talk and then be on his way, annoyed by the lack of food yet again. He sighed, rolling his eyes with his face turned so that she didn't see, and waited for her answer, blocking out the dead girl's cries.

Sure she would rather not give her siblings any more reason to humiliate her, but she didn’t really want to be alone at the moment. Nor was she in a rush to get back, so why not take the time to find some entertainment?
The way he drawled along with his touch sent a tingle up her spine. “Well, I don’t see any reason to say no if you put it that way~” She accepted with a smile playing across her lips. They would just have to part their ways before entering the forest, and not a soul would know.
The answer she got made the albino nod her head thoughtfully. It never crossed the bakeneko’s mind that her appearance would give off such an impression. Okay, that was a lie, she kind of did. It was a little annoying at times when she got babied but worked miracles when she needed to plot her way out of trouble. But she didn’t think it would make her come off as a shrine maiden of all things…… either she was really good at it or humans were horrible judges of character.
“Maybe the miko doesn’t like being stuck in a temple, it does get quite boring…rules and all that.”
She neither confirmed nor denied the title, since it would be a lot easier to explain than her being a youkai, so Tsuki decided to go along with it for now. Naturally she wouldn’t know what mikos do in a shrine, but she was sure it was nothing interesting – ritual dancing, praying, greeting visitors, and what else? Offering themselves up as virgin sacrifices? Tch, as if she would ever do that. Not willingly. Not ever.
As soft as it was, the sigh did not go unnoticed by the girl’s sensitive ears. How could she not when he was so standing so close to her? The female took a small step forward, then turned on her heels once again came face to face with the raven haired human, completely unfazed by the proximity. “Do you want to hear the truth?” Of course he would, no one likes being lied to. She continued without waiting for his answer. “A nasty little pest thought it can go in and out of my home without permission and not suffer the consequence. Everyone else in the house was lazy assholes and decided to make me do all the work. and I almost got him, too…” She pouted, not at all satisfied with how her little hunt ended. Then the expression suddenly changed for a more optimistic one. “But no need to ruin my perfectly good mood over one little bump in the road.”
She shot him another innocent smile, “Now I told you something about me, it’s only fair that you tell me something in return, right?” Ha, fair, normally the young feline would only scoff at the idea – after all why would a demon want to be fair? – but when things were in her favor, Tsuki never minded playing nice occasionally. “How ‘booouuut…… let’s start with your name? I’m minazuki, yoroshiku ne~”
Taking another small step back to put some space between them, Tsuki reached out her right hand for a handshake, then realized it wasn’t exactly in a shake-able condition. She quickly dropped it and extended the other.

The girl who might or might not be a miko. What did he know. The secret she obviously kept, he wanted to know however.
The white haired girl stepped in front of him again, face closer now than it had been before. She liked intimacy with strangers apparently. That could get her killed one of these days, he thought, smirking.
"Sure," he replied t her question, his face expressionless, not really affected by whatever reason had brought her down from the north, but still curious. And he knew being curious could have it's disadvantages, but he knew how to protect himself. Though this girl was hardly a threat.
"A pest?" he blinked at her words. "You can't be serious .. a bothersome pest brought you down here, did it?" Not a lot of miko girls would behave like that, and why would any miko trouble themselves with lowly pests anyway? Their temple was shared by everyone, basically. Well, obviously he realised at this point that she wasn't a miko. Maybe something else, but certainly not a shrine maiden. A shrine maiden would definitely be more restricted to strangers than she was being. Which made him more curious to what she was. He thought, wearing a yukata down in the south all messed up, was irresponsible of her. Oh well, it was her life. Her own trouble if anything came to happen.
"So now that you lost it, you're gonna go home, right? The pest is probably long gone by now, or dead for all I know, so .. I'll take you to the end of the south district, it ain't safe here at night .. but you know that, don't you."
His eyes narrowed as a pair of shadowy high school girls walked in their direction some distances away. He sighed yet again, not wanting to get into whatever it was they needed from him. Instead, he put his arm around her shoulder and began slightly pushing her in the opposite direction, away from the dead people.
However, before they got too far, she spoke again. "Tell you something about myself? Now why would I do that .." Whatever did he win on giving up his name to this northern stranger of all people, he wondered as he stared at her from the side.
She stepped back, adding some air between them, and reached out her injured hand for a handshake. He frowned. Maybe she noticed, because she quickly retracted it and offered her healthy hand instead. What the fuck was she playing at? An innocent, oblivious girl that she apparently was, trying to be nice to a total stranger in the dark of the night, in the shadiest parts of the south district, was she stupid?
His face remained without expression, waiting a little before reaching out his own hand, shaking hers. Well, he would play at her game, he didn't want to be involved in any trouble tonight.
"Heeeeee, Minazuki, eh? That's a very pretty name." He put a finger on his lower lip. "And you want mine ..?" His eyes shot up, wanting to look confounded. "My name .. is Ryuu," he smirked darkly, looking down at her, letting his words linger on his lips for a second. Okay, so he had given up his first name, so what. She couldn't do much just with that anyway. But he was hell sure that she wasn't going to get his last name.
Standing for a minute watching her beautiful frame, he remembered he had to get her away from this place. And sooner rather than later was better than not. He took his arm around her shoulder again, trying to lead her in the previous direction.
"Is there anything else you want to know about me, miko?" He chuckled lightly, thinking the occupation he had believed she had somehow became a nickname for her instead. He didn't believe she was a miko anymore, but it was fun to play a little once in a while. It had been too long since the last game before a "meal", although he was still unsure he would even get a taste from her delicious-looking skin. "Though, I should tell you, I can't reveal every little secret I have, little lamb." Although Minazuki wasn’t one to constantly venture in the south, she had known enough to acknowledge that the dangers that lay in the district. Not that it changed anything.
Her smile grew as the dark-haired stranger finally took her hand, and had given up his name in return. “Ryuu…” Tsuki mumbled low in repeat, liking the way it rolled off her tongue even if she was skeptical about the legitimacy of the information. But did really matter? No, not really now that she thought about it. All she needed was just something to call the stranger by, because she couldn’t keep dubbing the person as this guy in her head.
The guy – Ryuu, she corrected herself – seemed to be a little distracted from their conversation, the demon noticed as he once again wrapped an arm around her shoulder and began to usher her in a particular direction that she could only assume was towards the edge of the district. Curious, Minazuki snuck a glance at their surrounding trying to find what it was that could possibly had caught the male’s interest. The search ended in vain as electric blue eyes failed to find another presence other than the pair.
The youkai grinned as Ryuu’s words drew back her attention. “Well, I wasn’t expecting you to, so it’s all good~” It was only logical, after all. No one would want to reveal their personal information to a strange girl they just met minutes ago. Well, if they have any common sense, that is. Of course just because he wasn’t going to tell her anything didn’t make the cat demon any less curious. She wasn’t the most patient being she knew, but Minazuki loved a good game.
“I actually have plenty of questions in mind…” She raised a finger and tapped it lightly against her lips in attempt to look contemplating, humming quietly as she did so. The motion came to a halt as she clapped her hands together in sudden resolution. The light-haired girl asked casting a sideway glance at her company, palms together before her chest.
“Let’s see… If you truly believe that the south is as dangerous as you warned so, why are you still out at this hour?” Her voice filled with ingenuous curiosity, much like her intention. From what her eyes could gather, Ryuu really didn’t seem like the type that could handle himself in a brawl, looking as lean as he was. But she knew better than to judge someone by their appearance, especially since she had been living with many excellent examples. Tsuki’s lips quirked cheerfully as her thought wondered to the handful of peculiar individuals she encountered ever since she started attending that school. And for all she knew, he might not even be human. But what were the odds.
Cerulean orbs lazily loitered on his features for while before returning to the concrete ground before them. The bakeneko’s tone resumed to the cheery innocence it once was as she continued lightheartedly. “But if that’s one of those secrets you can’t tell me, I’m willing to settle with your favorite food, too~”

However, how Ryuu looked at her was far from normal. The closer he got to her, holding his arm around her waist to keep her "safe", only made him want her blood even more. When she uttered his name quietly to herself, his smile widened wickedly and he knew there would be something special about her.
She took notice of their surroundings out of the blue, and he made a mental note not to be too openly about seeing people around them who weren't really there. Not in her eyes anyway.
His smile turned into a gentle one when she said she wasn't expecting him to reveal his secrets just then, and he leaned in and picked up a lock of hair from her shoulder, taking a whiff. "Mm, good," he simply commented. Both to their unofficial agreement about secrets, and to the scent of her, though he would never tell her the latter.
At the mention of the large quantity of questions for him, he took a step back, slightly tilting his head to the side, still with a smile on his face. "Ah, of course." He removed his arm from her body and turned his back to her half way. "Well, the sooner to better get them out of your system," he grinned slyly. He turned back to face her while his feet took a steady stance, "preparing" himself for the inquiries.
He was surprised by her first inquest, but not startled. His arm crossed over his chest, while the other waved out into the night, implying the scenery of their location. "Simple. I'm a southerner with sleep deprivation."
He wasn't sure his answer would quench her thirst, but to most people that would seem the most logical. Why else would he be out at this hour? There weren't any shops open, besides perhaps the more shady businesses, and knowing the south, it was more than likely though he had not visited any of them.
His arms fell to the side and he shrugged, putting his hands in his pockets. "There's really not much more to it, I'm afraid," he said and watched her reaction. "Am I to take it you're disappointed? In that case, I'll tell you my favourite food, as a consolation prize."
The distance was closed once again and he stood right in front of her, smiling wickedly, almost giving off a dark aura, with his raven black hair drooping down his face, slightly covering his eyes. "Though I'm not sure you'll like it," he spoke slowly, inching closer and closer, until there was barely any room left, heat emanating through both of them. "Please allow me." With a quick move of his hand to her shoulder, he shoved the remaining hair off it, baring her neck to him, putting his other hand on her back to support whatever weight would be uncontrolled later on.
He then moved his face so close to her skin he could feel her warmth and lingered there for a moment, deliberately playing with whatever emotions or feelings normal girls felt during these times. He chuckled darkly, amused by her innocence. His breath was steady, hot against her skin, as he reached out his tongue to touch her casing, making it moist. He hated unprepared food. And if she didn't move, he would have it by the end of the night.
Within two seconds, he had his teeth out and down into her fair skin, penetrating the barrier quickly so not to make it too painfully for her. He smiled against her, sending vibrations through her neck as he hummed, enjoying his meal. It had taken long enough, but he had finally gotten to eat tonight.

“Well, if you say so.” Minazuki chimed softly, electric blue eyes setting on the landscape around them as they followed the male’s waving hand.
Yeah, like he actually expected her to believe that. Well, maybe an actual innocent and naive miko would, but fortunately or unfortunately, Tsuki wasn’t one. She just had a gut feeling that this strange boy before her was anything but simple. And – it must be an animal thing – her instinct had never wronged her before.
Thought it seemed like Ryuu didn’t want to linger on that topic any longer, considering how quickly he just changed the subject. Not that it was too much of a problem for her. People often mistaken her as impatient, but to Tsuki’s defense – not that she needed to explain herself to people or anything – it was only because that most matters could only hold her attention for so long before she lost interest. And naturally, she moves on. But they’d be surprised just how much time she would be willing to spend on stuff she considered worthy of her time.
The male moved his face incredibly close to hers, almost a little too close for Tsuki’s comfort. Almost. It would take so much more than a little intimacy to intimidate her. “Try me.” She challenged with a voice barely above a whisper, half lit eyes peering up at Ryuu behind curtains of pale lashes. She could feel his breath brushing against her bare skin, in distinct contrast with the chilly night air. His tongue was soft and warm against her skin, yet it felt like there was a snake dragging its cold body against her. An incontrollable shiver crawled up her spine, but whether from the fear or sheer excitement, Tsuki did not know. Maybe a little bit of both. Instinctually both of Tsuki’s hands raised, palms flat against his chest ready to push the man away. But that was when he bit her.
No, really. He actually bit her. She could feel the small wave of pain that shot through her shoulder as his teeth pierced through her skin.
“Are- are you a vampire?“ She finally managed to stutter out the first thing that popped into her mind after a few seconds of total blank, body quivering unknowingly from the sudden turn of event. It couldn’t be anything else, right? The nocturnal behavior, the neck-biting, and that almost-glowing ruby eyes…..She had heard the rumors that there were vampire hunters in town a while ago… it just all made sense now! Oh kami-sama, this was all so exciting! She just met her first vampire!
The hands over his chest clenched tightly, grabbing handfuls of the fabric. She let out a shaky breath, feeling the heart pounding faster and harder against her chest by the second. “Am I um-“ Minazuki spoke, chewing nervously on her bottom lip. Her voice sounded a little too calm and even enthusiastic for a girl who believed she was being fed on by a vampire. “Am I going to turn into a vampire now?”
Wait, how does that even work? She was a bakeneko, so essentially a cat. If she actually did turn into a vampire somehow, she would be a… blood-sucking neko?

He could hear her heartbeats pounding against her chest, and all he wanted was to drain her, but he couldn’t handle a death on his conscience. Not tonight. No, maybe he could’ve manage to drain that scum back in that dark alleyway, but this girl seemed a little too good for that. Somehow, he wanted her to live. Maybe so that he could feast on her another time? Or perhaps he just liked looking at her.
She was beautiful and practically shone in the light of the moon, and he didn’t just like the feel and taste of her skin, it was the most flawless he had ever seen on a girl before. This fact pushed him into believing she was more than just an ordinary human, not much unlike himself, and he relished in the thought. Though her words let him to think she wasn’t aware of what he was, nor did she have a lot of knowledge about the many different creatures that roamed the streets of Midori.
However, the thought of getting to know her further was feeling a little far fetched. He had made his move, he had been too daring for his own good he knew and his mother would tell him that exact thing, but he was just too hungry. And her blood tasted delicious. No, better than delicious. Perhaps the best he had had in his life? Well, there certainly was something special about her blood. Something seductive, even, though he couldn't exactly put his finger on it.
He smiled softly against her skin as he enjoyed the last drops before it became hard resisting to stop. As he sucked in the air afterwards, being able to go without it for a long period when he fed, he made sure to lick the wounds on her casing. It would be visible for a few days, and then fade away to nothing.
Whenever he fed on someone he liked he felt the need to make the wounds last longer, but this wasn't the case with Minazuki. He hardly knew the girl, besides her being a northerner. He kind of even hoped he wouldn't see her after tonight, because he had revealed himself too soon, but denying himself the pleasure of watching her from afar without her knowledge would be too hard.
He took a step back and licked his lips of the leftover blood, loving the sight of a fresh wound, though thoroughly cleaned, and smiled darkly. "Thanks for not resisting," he said simply, still ignoring her questions intentionally. Maybe she would get curious and seek him out. If she did, he certainly wouldn't mind having his fill a second time. The next words came out rather hushed, so whether or not she heard them he didn't know. "I have done what I came out to do tonight, so now I will take my leave."
His feet took a step back, turning sideways to the girl, his hand raised to point at her neck, his voice now fully strong for her to hear. "You should take care of that, people would get suspicious."
The next moment he turned his back completely and started walking in the opposite direction, leaving her behind. He waved his hand over his shoulder to wave goodbye. "I'll see you around, miko."
