Death? No, that was too easy – too simple and too painless. but whatever the real answer was, hagyuuta sachi hadn’t doubted for a second that she was pretty darn close to it. When she felt the raindrop hitting her face, Sachi did nothing but lift her head and stared aimlessly up at the dark, stormy sky. What started as a drizzle quickly turned into a great downpour in a matter of seconds. The ravenette knew she was drenched from head to toe without even looking at herself, she cloud clearly feel the wet fabric clenching tightly to her skin. She blinked a few times to get the rain water out of her eyes, before hugging the school bag in her arms and continuing her walk home. Unlike the passerby around her, despite walking at a faster pace than before there was no rush in her steps, as if the heavy perception was not happening at all. Nor was she bothered to find some cover or even an umbrella. No, with her luck – or rather the lack of – she would just get struck by lightning with an umbrella in her hand. truth be told, the goddess didn’t mind the rain. It is only water after all. And besides, she had been under situations far more disturbing than this. Not that the memories made her feel any better about the current predicament. But things could always be worse. oh wait- The crack of lightning was quickly followed by an ear-splitting roar of lightning. The sky above visibly darkened, making it seem like nightfall even though it was only early afternoon. Good job. Sachi sighed and thought to herself sarcastically, you managed to jinx it. AGAIN. She was almost tempted to pat herself on the back, but then decided she had gathered enough weird looks for the day from walking in the rain like this. After a few minutes of walking the girl’s apartment building finally came into view. Tucking in her chin, Sachi made a mad dash towards the structure without too much thought. Her eyes were pretty much fixed on the concrete ground instead of looking the direction she was headed. A stupid move in hindsight, but otherwise the water kept getting in her eyes and it was incredibly uncomfortable. Just as she was turning around the last corner, sachi felt her body smashing into the wall. An awfully soft wall, thought the girl as she sat on the ground, rubbing her head gingerly. Then she realized that it wasn’t a wall, but instead a person, that she had ran into. She sighed and hoisted herself back up, looking for the unfortunate individual. “Sorry about that. I wasn’t watching where I was going” She said, trying to sound as apologetic as she could. But with her deadpanned expression no emotion was really convincing. “Are you hurt?” With the rainwater in her eyes, sachi wasn’t able to make out anything more than a rough outline with her hindered vision. Squinting, the senior noticed her school bag laying a few steps away. but that wasn’t important at the moment. “I am truly sorry.” She apologized again. [/style] |
