[bg=#ececec][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=align,center,true][atrb=width,425,true] nayuki was raised rather liberally due to the fact that her parents didn't actually play a very big part in raising her. early childhood was filled with nearly ever luxury and amusement a tot could imagine, but that still wasn't enough. she excelled in primary school beyond that of the other children. born with a natural thirst for knowledge and an empty household library she began reading and writing at a tender age. studying up on spells and interested in honing/utilizing her magical qualities; nayuki had a lot of potential, however, it was at the age of six that things started to fall apart. nayuki's mother and father weren't the keenest when it came to nurturing a child's psyche. a haze fell over the 'peaceful' (yet lonely) atmosphere that made up nayuki's childhood when the two guardians began to bicker. senseless arguing here and there would take place, and eventually full-blown fights began to unfold right before six-year old nayuki and her four year old brother. if there was one thing to avoid during a divorce it was fighting in front of the children. there were many days spent yelling and crying for the fights to 'stop', but they never did. 'fujioka' being a well-respected name among the community sparked for plenty of gossip when the pair finally sealed the deal and split up. currently nayuki's mother resides in a townhome in the east district while her father remains on mansion row. nayuki spent the next few years in a state of turbulence as she was juggled week-on and week-off between the two homes. not only had the divorce thrown a hatchet into her relatively normal lifestyle, but it left the child with a very stale perception of marriage, relationships, and overall commitment. in the aftermath of the split, nayuki struggled with the transition of schooling. her primary years of success were met with a newly developed habit for procrastination and a terrible work ethic. as she went through the years and entered high school she flourished socially. finding a niche within interaction and surrounding herself with peers she enjoyed, nayuki's personality continued to blossom. however, she grew cynical and arrogant; aware of her intelligence yet never applying herself she often skipped school and rarely completed the work given. her mood swings grew more frequent and bitterness aided to the frustration of her academic failure. she feuded with both her mother and father constantly and even the brother she loved so much. the current nayuki is a socialite and seemingly very at ease with her lifestyle, however given a second glance she has quite the array of emotional issues and seems bent on solving them independently.

[bg=#ececec][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=align,center,true][atrb=width,425,true] ( * ) nayuki is a striking 4 foot 9 with a child's face and physique. anyone who looks at her would think she attends the local elementary or something similar. it's hard to believe she's actually seventeen. she was born with this eccentric appearance and has learned to take advantage of her unique height. ( * ) nayuki has two residences she could be staying at (both within the east district to boot) she has bad relations with her parents and instead her father has bought her a small apartment in the omoshi complex (west district) which she frequents. though, if necessary she'll stop by at her mom or dad's without much trouble. ( * ) another thing to note is nayuki's qualities as a witch. as a child she spent many afternoons huddled in a corner with a book of spells or magic anthology; however, as she grew older and had to deal with more worldly issues she pegged anything supernatural down a few on her list of priorities. when she turned fifteen she picked it back up, and now is trying to perfect her shape shifting abilities. currently she can only alter her appearance to that of a male and a more physically mature version of herself (which goes by the name 'yukina') for a time restraint of twenty minutes. she can also speak to animals and birds, however her skills have been restricted to mainly dogs for some reason (she's working on it). ( * ) the strange marking/tattoo like etching on the right side of her face was the result of a failed spell back when she was five or so. she's had it ever since and although she could probably be looking in on how to rid herself of it she thinks it kind of looks cool. ( * ) considering the huge issue her parents made over the divorce as well as her 1. constant failure in school and 2. underdeveloped magic she's probably ranked pretty low at the bottom of the fujioka children of the generation. when attending family occasions, or those held by friends of the family, nayuki doesn't give anyone very good things to say. often rude, or snarky she is in a noticeably sour mood when forced to interact with anyone purely because of her surname. ( * ) nayuki has a decent voice but her real talent shines through acting. she excels at theater and takes part in community shows as well as st. valentines own drama club.
